Our venue for the Uk training Emerson College is a place of adult education based on the principles and philosophy of the School of Spiritual Science founded by Rudolf Steiner and renewed to meet the challenges of modern times and the world we live in. It provides a rich environment for personal, artistic and spiritual growth through education and human encounters for those people on a journey of experiential discovery and exploration. It offers environmentally friendly surroundings, biodynamic and organic food, where possible produced locally, and aims to create wholeness out of diversity.
Location: Forest Row, East sussex, South England, closely situated to Ashdown Forest
The college has a library, bookshop, telephone, fax, internet facilities, a small food shop and a laundry. The local village has a variety of shops and a vegan & organic cafe (15 minutes walk from the college).
Students and teachers stay in single room accommodation in student houses on the college campus.
Non Residential students
If you would like to live off campus and commute to the training this may be possible. However in our experience it is much more conducive to your energy levels and your capacity to remain focused and grounded if you live at the venue with the group.
As part of the conscious eating program everybody has a green smoothie for breakfast. This is generally sufficient and filling to suffice until lunch time, however if anyone feels too they can supplement the smoothie with an additional something of their choice.
Lunch and a light dinner is included in the training cost
The college kitchen prepares and provides whole food vegetarian meals with primarily organic/biodynamic produce
Student houses have basic cooking facilities for those who wish to prepare their own meals.
There will be two days of fasting which will be further dicsussed in a lecture. For medical reasons or by preference its ok to opt out and prepare your own meals in the comminal kitchen on the fasting day
