During the training we will refresh some of the studies and skills from the Level 1 YTT but ultimately we will be looking to refine our practice and understanding to a much more subtle depth of clarity and precision that will support and strengthen ones own self practice and teaching.
As well as further studies in the yoga sutras we will also be looking at a wider spectrum of spiritual teachings to support our personal transformation and development as yoga practitioners.
Pre-requisite This training is an intensive with a demanding 6 days per week schedule. The asana, pranayama and meditation and other yoga disciplines in the training are only suitable for yoga practitioners who already have a regular practice and feel that they are emotionally, physically and mentally prepared to go to a deeper level of self exploration.
We expect a high level of commitment and maturity from everybody who want to participate in this level 2 training. Your commitment should be measured on the basis of whether you can apply yourself to the training with 100% focus and your maturity by what extent you are able to express a yogic attitude of sensitivity, honesty, openness, acceptance and self discipline.
THE PRACTICES Asana The morning practice will include asana, pranayama and meditation. Many of the morning asana sessions will be taught by mark in an ashtanga vinyasa style. As well as primary and secondary series sequences there will also be classes which will include a wider range of asanas and sequencing. During the training arm balancing, jump throughs and other more complex aspects of asana practice will be explored so trainees can challenge their bodies to open and develop in new ways.
The afternoon practices will mainly be taught by Scarlett or Raquel and will include Vinyasa flow classes, Restorative classes and Dynamic yoga method classes. These classes will have specific focuses to integrate and illustrate the impact and application of the first four limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, Yama, Niyama, Asana and Pranayama.
