Vania Lanas was born in Lima, Peru in the year of the Dragon. She spent most of her childhood playing in the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean, and as a teenager, she immigrated to the United States to follow a family tradition to study abroad.
In the US, she studied Fine Arts, Marketing and Design at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas and has spent the majority of her career holding a number of creative and strategic positions in Marketing, Design and Advertising for Non-Profits, Creative Agencies, and the Corporate World. Today, she brings the thinking and discipline of big business marketing to small businesses. She has been in the Marketing arena for over 11 years and has worked with a diverse range of clients to develop new product rollouts and their companies' web presence. As a Marketing Consultant, Vania has also inspired and challenged a variety of small business owners and entrepreneurs to develop their Branding and Marketing practices. Most recently she has joined the ranks of Tribe Yoga as their Marketing Consultant.
Vania has been practicing Yoga for more than 14 years with a focus on Ashtanga-Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin styles of Yoga. Initially, she was introduced to Yoga as a way to heal from a back injury, but her practice has expanded to include Pranayam and Meditation, since these evolution has led her down a path of self discovery. She has practiced yoga in the US and all over Asia, and in 2013 she decided to return to India to complete her RYT 200 in Ashtanga-Vinyasa Yoga with Tribe Yoga in Goa. Most recently, she has traveled to Mysore, India where she studied the traditional Mysore style of Ashtanga-Vinyasa at the Mystic School under the guidance of Shashi Kumar and Classical Hatha at Yoga India under Bharath Shetty, a pupil of B.K.S. Iyengar.
Vania is an avid runner and has spent the past 10 years participating in a variety of races with distances spanning from 5km to marathons. She is an active member of Gilbert's Gazelles, a premier training group for runners and triathletes in Central Texas led by Gilbert Tuhabonye, and has coached Boot Camps for its members focusing on full body conditioning, injury prevention and core strength. Her passion for running led her into the world of nutrition, as she sees a focus on conscious eating as an integral part of her training regimen. She has studied nutrition and Ayurveda for a number of years, and has combined her passion for both to become a personal coach for a number of clients with an emphasis on Conscious Living. Her approach is to empower others to tune into their bodies and create the self awareness that is paramount to live a balanced life.
After a few years working and traveling in Asia, Vania is semi-settled in Austin, Texas where she continues to deepen her understanding of nutrition, anatomy and Yoga theory. You can find her in her kitchen cooking up one of her favorite recipes, running the trails of Texas, riding her scooter to a local live music venue, at Little Stacy Park where she teaches weekly Yoga classes, or at her home studio where she practices and offers private Yoga classes focusing on body awareness and mental focus and personalized Nutrition consultations to optimize her clients' athletic performance and healthy habits.
