Sequoia began her spiritual journey consciously in her teenage years when she would secretly attend chakra meditation classes. This was the start of her spiritual exploration. Her curiosity and thirst for knowledge encouraged her to seek for more through the many classes, workshops and retreats in yoga, healing arts, metaphysics, and personal development activities.
Sequoia has invested many years in continuous study in the healing arts and yoga. After running her own holistic company which she closed the doors to follow her heart to study Yoga India. Sequoia’s Yogic path started in her early twenties on her second trip to India . She found that whilst studying Shivanada and Iyengar intensely for 2 months her life completely changed. Since then she has been studying various styles including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Hatha, and Mantra yoga in both India and North America and holds a teachng certification in Hatha yoga
Nowadays she lives in India six months of the year teaching and studying..
Sequoia is interested in different cultures and spirituality and feels greatly influenced by the philosophies of Yoga, Buddhism, and Aboriginal Native traditions. "Yoga is more than a class, it is a way of life, it’s a way to create more conscious awareness and harmony in our life’s which begins on the mat and over time transpires in all we do .As we shift our consciousness we begin to cultivate a change in perception and embrace each moment with opportunity for inner growth , surrender, and acceptance which creates a union an inner contentment , also known as a union with all life. This union is the YOGA. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have found through yoga, and my life’s experiences, knowing that as individuals we all have our own inner journey to cultivate and that’s what makes the richness of life"
