Tribe is renowned for the relaxed, fun and easy going atmosphere cultivated by its teachers on each training. As well as offering a comprehensive and practical approach to develop ones understanding and practice of yoga we work towards awakening your inner teacher as the main source of inspiration, guidance and wisdom for ones self practice and for teaching others.
Traditionally our trainings have a down to earth approach bringing the ancient yoga teachings into a relevant and digestible modern presentation (East meets West) that students can easily understand and apply to their practice and, more importantly, apply to daily living.
The magnificence of the location and the guidance given by Scarlett and guest teachers will encourage you to relax and unwind whilst embarking on a journey of self-discovery through the yoga teachings.

Tribe Yoga Studio
Austria
YTT June 2009
The Yoga
We the course instructors are quite progressive and come from various lineages of yoga and therefore a fusion of different styles (Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha Yoga, Iyengar, Dynamic Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga) may be apparent in the course. The main teachings are derived from Patanjalis yoga sutras and the eightfold system of Ashtanga yoga which offers a comprehensive study, guide and exploration towards the true Self guiding us towards establishing a firm foundation as to why we are practicing and how to practice yoga! .
The methodology for practice is based on the dynamic yoga method, which offers a simplistic approach to the practice and understanding of some basic fundamentals for yoga practice:
- A soft and passive CORE
- The stability of the FOUNDATION
- The expression of the BANDHAS throughout the body
- Freedom of the BREATH
The basic sequencing for asana study and practice is 'based' on a blend of the Ashtanga Primary Series as devised by Prathabis jois and vinyasa flow. To honor our varying abilities and limitations there will be modifications to the traditional primary series whereby we will introduce a greater variety of asanas, modifications and sequencing under an umbrella of spirtual content and guidence.

Trainees practice teaching and adjustments July 2009
We work toward facilitating a space whereby each person can appreciate and nurture their own individuality and move towards developing a self-practice that reflects how and what they are feeling in each and every moment. Ultimately the sequencing of your own self practice or teaching to a group gradually becomes more spontaneous and explorative.
For both beginners and more experienced students this course offers the chance to advance ones understanding of yoga as a tool of self discovery and spiritual development regardless of ones previous experience in yoga. This training is primarily a yoga intensive that anyone can benefit from. Some trainees attend the training because they hold a passion to become teachers whilst others attend because they want to have a month of yoga study and intensive practice.
We assess each applicants suitability to attend the course via the application form. We welcome trainees who can cultivate a `beginners mind` regardless of their previous yoga experience so that usual ideas, judgments, habits, etc do not interrupt the learning process. A 'beginners mind' creates a more open receptive approach and a greater possibility of advancing ones yoga practice to a much greater depth.
Each student receives a training manual for use throughout the course and are also encouraged to maintain a 'dairy' of their discoveries, developments, studies and thoughts to be handed in for assessment at the end of the training.
All trainees who successfully complete the course will receive their internationally recognized 200hr yoga teacher certificate at the end of the training which allows them to teach whatever style of yoga they love and practice.

The retreat location for the training was beautiful and great for long meditative walks in nature.
Raquel and Scarlett offer very different skills and abilities but come from the same place fuelled by love and yoga. I feel blessed to have experienced the month long course, the journey has revealed a new me and new way of life and given me the experience and confidence to share yoga with others.

Weather and Clothing
Generally Bad Mitterndorf enjoys lovely summers with blue skies and a fair share of sunny warm days. However climate change is obvious in many areas of the world so to be on the safe side its advisable to bring warm and waterproof clothing.
Mostly you can wear light clothing in the daytime with temperatures in the 20's and early 30's.
Bring sturdy shoes for hiking.
Yoga...bring a shawl or blanket to use during meditation and relaxation... This is a summer retreat and the shala is in a beautifully converted barn which does not have its own heating system. The early start means the barn can be quite cool at the beginning of the morning, we advise you to bring warm clothing to stay heated during meditation and pranayama, once we start the asanas and stoke the internal fires you can begin to strip off !.
