23rd January - 30th January 2009.
Mandrem Beach, Goa, India Each day begins with a short guided meditation in the TM tradition of approx 30 minutes aiming towards stilling the mind in preparation for the coming day followed by 45 minutes of pranayama (breathing exercises) with emphasis on cleansing and subtle balancing tecniques. After a short break we will practice asana yoga postures for approx. 2 hours.
The taught asana practice will be based on the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa sequence, however, each day will have a special emphasis ie. standing postures, backbends, inversions etc.
These classes will be suitable for all levels with appropriate modifications and the attention of two teachers. Brunch will be served buffet style at 11am followed by free time to enjoy the many and varied delights of Goa, whether it be a relaxing and detoxifying with an ayurvedic massage available on-site or just unwinding on the beautiful unspoilt tropical beach. In the late afternoon there will be another class of approx 90 minutes where we will explore many other aspects of Hatha yoga. This will include hands-on adjustment workshops, soft style yin yoga practice and yoga nidra.
The timetable may vary slightly to accommodate a visit to the world famous Anjuna flea market and perhaps a night out dancing under the stars.
