Pre Arrival Info for Trainees
MORNING READINGS During the trainings we ask each student to share a reading with the group. This can last up to 10 minutes and can be anything from a piece of literature, a poem, a chapter or two from a spiritual text etc. anything uplifting, heart opening or thought provoking.All trainees are requested to bring at least one morning reading.
REQUIRED READING The ‘Yoga Sutras’ written by Patanjali is one of the core text for the training. Translations differ from writer to writer, some more credible than others. We encourage you to read a cross-selection. Here are just a few:
- 'Light on the yoga sutras of patanjali' by BKS Iyengar

- 'Inside the yoga sutras' by Reverend Jaganath Carrera
- 'Kriya Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Siddhas' by Marshall Govindan
RECCOMMENDED READING LIST For yoga practitioners and yoga teachers we highly recommend adding these books to your personal home library for reference and further studies.
You do not need to bring any text books with you. All reading material will be supplied.

MAT For hygiene and energetic reasons we request that you please bring you own yoga mat. If you do not bring a mat you will need to purchase one locally on arrival.
WHAT TO BRING.....INDIA & THAILAND
- Journal/Notepad
- Yoga Mat & yoga clothes
- Pens, pencils
- Flash Light
- Toiletries…bring the minimum and buy here! It is very difficult to dispose of plastics etc so please try to bring as little packaging as possible. Toothpaste, shampoo, sun-creams, mosquito repellents are all readily available and much cheaper than the west. You can also buy plug adapters here.
- A large shawl or blanket for pranayama, meditation and shavasana practice. Bring a woolly hat and scarf to keep the head and neck warm during early morning meditation practices.
- International driving license for renting motorbikes and cars.
- Hiking shoes if you are likely to go walking off the beaten path through the country side. Although most people come with just sandals.
- ATM card for easy access to cash.
- Camera…. useful to take photos of the hands on adjustments as well as catching magical moments.
- We recommend a minimum budget for extra meals, internet, shopping etc of about 50 Euros per week.

CLOTHING In recent times the weather is becoming more and more unpredictable all over the world. Please be prepared for a variety of weather conditions regardless of what normal annual forecast suggests. A light raincoat, a warm hat and a scarf are all standard items for travellers....dont leave home without them!
